Formerly known as Good People, Majid Al Maskati and Jordan Ullman are an electronic, alternative R&B duo who met while attending the University of Toronto. In early 2013, they dropped their debut EP, afterhours, as a free download. Later that year, Drake’s “Hold on, We’re Going Home” appeared featuring “Majid Jordan.” The track climbed into Billboard’s Top Ten in the summer of that year and dubbed the top track of 2013, right as it was announced that the duo signed with Drake’s label, OVO Sound.
In July of 2014, Majid Jordan released their critically acclaimed effort A Place Like This. The five-track EP is filled with a generous mix of deep house and R&B of the 80’s and 90’s and includes standout tracks “Her,” “Forever,” and the title track “A Place Like This.”
The video is part of NESTEA’s “A Taste Of Freedom” campaign, which was launched in 2014 and is currently running in thirty-four countries outside of the U.S. The campaign message is about encouraging consumers to overcome the hurdles of the everyday routine, taking a moment to pause with NESTEA and refocusing on what makes life great.
The latest visual from the Norwegian duo who made their splash on the world with their global #1 hit “Am I Wrong,” was shot in the tropical paradise of Kauai, Hawaii and captures the essence of “Fresh Idea”: taking time to breathe it all in, relax and enjoy. Shortly after the clip begins, viewers are transported to the majestic beaches, mountains and ocean, while Nico & Vinz sing the catchy lyrics, “just breathe, you’re free.” The video shows a moment of freedom, in a fun and lighthearted way.
Catch the duo this Friday July 3rd in New Orleans as they touchdown at the Mercedes Benz Superdome for the ESSENCE Music Festival with an 8:40pm performance in the Ford Super Lounge.
